I’m very pleased to announce the promotions of Chris Stadther and Kevin Fournier to Director of Operations and Director of Formations, respectively. These are both recognitions of the amazing contributions they’ve made to Lightspeed and to what we can look forward to in the future.

As we close out each year of competitions in Lightspeed Saber League, we also reflect on what we did right and what we did wrong. We are still a small organization, which means we have the flexibility needed to adapt, without the baggage and red tape that a larger organization would have to contend with. Nowhere is this more important than when an injury occurs.
Hi Starbats! Here’s a few things I want you to know before Vegas this year!
I will be closing registration early, as we have reached capacity. So please get your registrations in by this 12:01 AM, Saturday, June 10. I realize that this is a change in schedule and an inconvenience. If you have any particular difficulty, please let me know. We’ll be as flexible as we can and we don’t want to leave anyone behind.
Lightspeed Saber League is introducing a gender policy to ensure that everyone is included in our sport and given the opportunity for fair competition with regard to gendered divisions.
A new competition weapon class is introduced for the first time to Lightspeed Saber fencing since 2017. The new Dyad class saber system consists of one parrying saber, meant for defense, and one primary saber meant for offense and defense.
The Lightspeed Saber staff is made up of a mix of employees, contractors, and volunteers, and we certainly couldn’t achieve anything without their hard work and help. Today we announce and honor two promotions, John Mullins and Sean Holtzman.
