WHAT IS LIGHTSPEED SOFTSWORD?
Softsword is an edged padded sword martial art that is higher intensity and brings an experience that is more akin a real sword fight. It’s closer contact than Lightspeed, requires more precise use of the blade, and often involves more power in the swing than we use for Lightspeed Saber fencing. By introducing Lightspeed softsword to some of our events, we hope to encourage more non-ranged weapon combats and fencers to come and fight with us!
SOFTSWORD RULES
While softsword is similar in many way to Lightspeed Saber fencing and thus very accessible to Lightspeed fencers, it is still a different weapon and fighting style and thus has some variations in rules. Read our guide on softsword-specific rules below.
